Sukkot

Sukkot, Succos, Sukkos, all these names refer to the Feast of Booths, or the Feast of Tabernacles, the Jewish Holiday when in biblical times the Jews would make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The holiday lasts seven days here in Israel.  Nothing compares to the feeling one gets when walking down the street, in city or town, country wide, seeing all the sukkot, the temporary booths, where people eat their meals during this holiday.  It is customary to eat all meals in the sukka, even restaurants build temporary booths.

It is customary to purchase the four species, and among them, the etrog, a fruit similar to the lemon.  The are many rules associated with the etrog, defining it’s characteristics, and so forth, but most important  of the rules is to protect it’s stem, so that it stays in tact, for prayer can only be done with a complete etrog.

The best way to protect an etrog is with an Etz-Ron Etrog Box. Etz-Ron makes a wide variety Etrog Boxes , some with a built in handle, and some without, all decorated and all looking  beautiful when on display the rest of the year.
